Kaye is a British artist living in Somerset. She is a professional member of the SAA. She works with all mediums but is probably best known for her watercolours. Claire Western – Demonstration
Claire’s paintings represent deep emotional responses to the land and seascapes of the south west of England, her home since childhood. Claire works from rapid drawings made in the field and then develops her subject back in the studio by exploiting all the expressionist possibilities of unusual combinations of surface and pigment.
Claire has spent her life painting and teaching art through involvement in teaching, constantly experimenting with a wide range of materials and techniques.
Annual Bristol trip
It has been agreed by the majority of the membership (by raised hands) that due to the poor standard of last year’s exhibition at the Royal West of England Bristol art exhibition we shall not bother to arrange a visit this term. However Duncan would welcome suggestions from members as to alternative worthwhile visits.

Linda Hampson – Botanical Art Tutor – Demonstration
Examples of my work, botanical and natural history, can be found in many private collections around the world. I also have botanical work hanging in the Visitors Centre of the Durban Botanic Gardens.
I relocated to England in 2011, joined SWSBA and by 2013, was elected to full membership of the Society of Botanical Artists. Received the Derwent award for outstanding work in the coloured pencil medium.’Although botanical work is covered, I also tutor all aspects of natural history illustration – birds and animals. The versatility of the coloured pencil medium is comprehensively covered and it’s inclusion into mixed media artworks is explored.
I give regular lessons in Sidmouth on Fridays as well as monthly lessons in Lyme Regis and through The Old Kennels , Dunkeswell.
Further details and information is on my website – https://www.swsba.org.uk/artists/72/Linda+Hampson+-+Coloured+pencil+artist.
